Heful Harmony

A safe space for self-expression and healing through the arts.
Mental health issues are on the rise and have increased exponentially during and post COVID-19 pandemic:
  • In 2024, 43% of adults say they feel more anxious than they did in previous year, up from 37% in 2023 and 32% in 2022.
    • Despite the increasing anxiety, only 24% of adults say they engaged with mental health professional in the past year.
    • Cost is the biggest reason people go without the help they need.
  • From 2011 to 2021, young people's well being and mental health worsened significantly.
    • 42% of students felt persistently sad or hopeless.
    • 60% of female students experienced persistent feelings of sadness.
    • 50% of LGBTQ+ students experienced poor mental health.
Art therapy is an effective tool and a powerful coping mechanism to manage stress and health issues:
  • Art therapy can help improve anxiety, depression, PTSD and daily stress.
  • The neuroscience behind art therapy shows that sensory explorations in art making are directly linked to positive changes in the brain.
  • The act of creation is a powerful tool that can lead to increased self-esteem, self-awareness, and relaxation.
  • Studies have found that art therapy helps people with dementia improve overall well-being and interactions with their caregivers.
  • Ongoing creative art therapy helped cancer patients decrease negative emotions and improve psychological well-being.
Our Mission

Create support and help improve physical and emotional well-being for adults through various art modalities such as painting, drawing, clay, and ceramics.

Our Approach

We partner with hospitals and community-based organizations to bring the program that empowers confidence, allows one to explore mindfulness, self-reflection, and creativity.

Free workshops at hospitals and local community centers for everyone who needs it most.

A safe, non-judgmental and encouraging environment for self expression.

An effective coping mechanism to manage stress and improve mental health.

Help convey emotions and self expression when words fall short.

Program Benefits

Our program aims to help individuals improve physical and emotional well-being through various art modalities. Art can help express complex feelings and emotions that otherwise may be difficult to express verbally.

Ongoing collaboration with the Jewish Board, New York's largest social services nonprofit organization.

Over 30 clay workshops since launch.

Working with clay is a physical activity that helps unprocessed feelings to be shaped into a tangible, 3D creation.
